I have been very fortunate to pursue and live my passion for Song-writing and really Love working in the Recording Studio Environment.
In my day the Social Media Platform was MySpace, my oh my, things have greatly moved on from there, hence I thought you wouldn't mind me bringing this back for my page.
Just recently I was listening to my Favourite Radio Station, "Greatest Hit's Birmingham" on 105.2 FM, when the Presenter said and I quote....."Sir Paul McCartney still to this day Loves nothing more than picking up a guitar and writing a Song Out of Thin Air."
I completely agree with one of the World's Greatest Song-Writers ever, with that quote.
Penning an Original Song, or getting a Tune or Melody come in to your head from nowhere, at any time of day, even 4 O'Clock in the morning, or whilst out shopping, or whilst sitting on the Seafront whilst on Holiday is so exciting. What you must then do is find a way of recording that idea as it happens, and capture it there and then on your mobile phone or whatever you can use. Lyrics in my opinion do matter, but not at this moment in time. They may have to come later, when you can make time to work on the song.

We all go through life, living highs and lows of day to day Life. Where Music is concerned, when it's in your blood, it's either a heartless Mistress, or the Best Love of your Life, It either becomes a nice little hobby, or a Passion that you wish to pursue, Sometimes even both.
For me it's both, or it has been in my journey.
Days, Weeks, Months and even Years of trying to get somewhere, somehow, it is a very hard slog, but you just keep going. One day out of the Blue, things took a turn, that's the highs and lows I was referring to.
One week In the 1980's Dexy's Midnight Runners were in the Top 10 with "Geno," that's how I can remember my 1st Studio Recording Session. I was booked in for a days work at a 4 track recording Studio in Erdington at 5 pounds an hour. That was a life changing experience for me, I loved the whole Creative Process, this is where I wanted to be and still feel the same today.

The Next important date in my journey , was in 1988, some 8 years later of slog, slog, and more slog. I was working on a Pirate Radio Station, at the time, called 2nd City Radio, with a great friend of mine, Frenchy, who worked Full Time at Summit Record Shop. Frenchy had his finger on the pulse when it came to R & B, Soul, and Lovers Rock to name but a few genres. He knew all the Record Guys at all the Major Record Labels. We had great fun on our Pirate Radio Station, I was working on Radio Jingles, Background Music for Advertising. In them days it was Cassette Tapes, when Frenchy listened to one of my jingles, he said "That's not really a jingle, it's more like an actual Track, take this to Neil Rushton and Dave Barker of "Kool Kat Records," and play it to them, see what they think?
They had an office at 5 Ways, Edgbaston, Birmingham. It was a small Record Label. Again both Neil and Dave had their fingers on the pulse, Underground House, Acid House and Dance Music... Neil listened to our Track and signed me up to his Label. A Life changing moment again....Simply because it was only a few weeks later, when I got a call from Neil, telling me to watch Central News, a time when Bob Warman was the Presenter. He Interviewed Neil of Kool Kat Records, Birmingham, as they had a Top Chart Entry with Inner City's "Good Life."

That was for sure, a WOW moment in my life, I remained a background boy for the next few years, "Kool Kat Records" became "Network Records," achieving more Chart success. I'd just had the most amazing time of my life so far. Neil and Dave always believed that one day, I would have success as a Songwriter. But there I was signed to an Underground Dance Label, for me a mind blowing experience.
Now, Ladies and Gentlemen, here I am, writing Songs for Climate Change and enjoying every second of it. Writing Songs for our fight to change hearts and minds, raising awareness throughout the #PowerOfMusic4ClimateChange on the Carbon Footprint Music Productions Record Label.
